October 24, 2020 - Boston, MA

This past October I played a super-fun show at O’Brien’s Pub in Boston, MA. I enjoyed meeting new rock friends Black Helicopter and The Astounds. Great old-school style rock club — big sound, and the people rocked! They were jazzed to hear the unique stylings of Park Doing :)

July 2, 2020 - Ithaca, N.Y.

I performed another incarnation of my Anthropology of Television Noise project at the Grayhaven Art Space in Ithaca, NY, as part of the EyeVeeTeeVee project. Included in that show was a special collaboration with visual artist/musician Jen Cutler who played her rigged-for-sound classic sewing machine, while I played my rigged-for-sound mechanical tv! Special thanks to Jen.

April 6-13, 2019 - European Tour with Johnny Dowd

Had another great tour with my friend and inspiration Johnny Dowd!

Thanks to everyone involved in putting the tour together and also to the folks who came to the shows. In keeping with the “Family Picnic” (the name of Johnny’s latest record) theme of the tour, it was great to be so welcomed and appreciated. To experience the energy at the shows and the love the fans have for Johnny was truly uplifting. It was great, too, to sing with Mike Edmondson as “The Blue Belles,” Johnny’s back-up singers (from Los Angeles...wink). I look forward to the next tour already!

In April 2018, I got a call from my good friend Robert Pollard, the founder, songwriter, singer, and band leader of the legendary band Guided by Voices. They would be playing in my hometown of Ithaca, NY, and I would open for them.

I had met Robert through the music scene in Dayton, Ohio, when I was in high school. Even though I was a high school punk at the time, and he had an established band, he always treated me like a like rock brother, and we have been friends ever since.

I was especially honored to play the show in Ithaca, because they normally don’t have opening bands, because their own show is 2 ½ hours long. (He has released over 100 albums so has a long repertoire.) But they made an exception for me.

Well, we had so much fun, and he got such a kick out of the material that I had honed in Berlin and while touring Europe with Johnny Dowd, that he took me on tour with them in the summer and fall. We played all over the eastern US, as well as in Toronto, Canada. The shows were fun, and I got great responses from the Guided by Voices fans.

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback and also thanks to Robert Pollard for allowing me to be a part of another great chapter in rock history!
